Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 June 2026
Elle Jane Bark (ABN 47 689 959 359), trading as ejbark, respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what I collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What I collect
I only collect personal information you choose to give me, or that is automatically collected when you visit this site:
When you use the contact form: your name, email address, and anything you include in your message.
When you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address. The newsletter is delivered through Substack, so your subscription is managed on the Substack platform and is subject to Substack's own privacy practices.
When you browse the site: basic technical and usage information such as your device type, browser, pages visited, and approximate location, collected through standard website analytics.
I do not collect sensitive information, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Why I collect it
I use your information to respond to your enquiry, to discuss and deliver advisory work, to send the newsletter you've asked for, and to understand how the site is used so I can improve it. I will not use your information for any unrelated purpose without your consent.
Who it's shared with
I don't sell your personal information. I share it only with the service providers that help run this site and my business — including Squarespace (website and forms) and Substack (newsletter), and only so they can provide those services. Some of these providers are located overseas, which means your information may be stored or processed outside Australia.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses cookies and analytics tools to understand site traffic and usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.
How it's stored and protected
I take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, including through the security measures provided by the platforms I use. No online service can guarantee absolute security. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, I will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Accessing, correcting, or deleting your information
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. To unsubscribe from the newsletter, use the unsubscribe link in any email. For anything else, contact me using the details below.
Complaints
If you're concerned about how your information has been handled, contact me first and I'll work to resolve it. If you're not satisfied, you can lodge a complaint with the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.
