Why I do this work.
I've spent more than twenty years inside complex, regulated and safety-critical organisations. Defence, mining, government regulators, large enterprises organisations noticing the same thing. There's usually no real strategy. The people are capable and the intent is genuine, but the work doesn't behave the way anyone thinks it does.
The problem is almost never the people. It's the space between them. The handoffs no one owns. The decisions made several levels below where they should be. The operating model everyone assumes exists but no one has actually designed.
The thread across all of it has been the same question: what is the work?
I provide organisational assurance: a rigorous check that the organisation's design is working the way it's supposed to. Where accountability is ambiguous. Where decisions are landing in the wrong places. Where the gap between design intent and how things actually run is quietly creating risk. The through-line is structural: I look for why the work behaves the way it does, not just what's going wrong on the surface.
What I actually do
I have a polymathic mind. I make connections across domains most people keep in separate boxes, and I hold the system and the detail at the same time, zooming out to the structural pattern, then back in to the specific handoff where it breaks. That's the part most people find hard to keep together, and it's where the real diagnosis lives.
How I think
I also have ADHD, and operating model design happens to be one of my hyper-focus areas. It has been for twenty years. That's not a side note. The relentless pattern-matching, the inability to leave a structural problem half-understood, the need to see how the whole thing fits together, that's the same wiring that makes me good at this.
I can walk into an organisation, have one conversation, and know exactly where it's breaking down. That's not instinct. It's twenty years of seeing the same system failures, in different industries, at different scales, with different names.
How I work with you
There are two ways to work with me:
The Six Pressure Points is a free diagnostic assessment you can take today. Twelve questions, about ten minutes. It identifies which of the six dimensions of your organisation is under the most strain and where to look first.
From there, the diagnostic goes deeper. Interviews, document review, governance analysis. An executive report that gives an honest picture of where accountability is drifting from design intent, before it becomes an incident.
